Zach Bauchou Holds Off Sam Stevens For APT Title

BROWNWOOD, Texas — Former Oklahoma State standout Zach Bauchou fired a closing 68 on Friday to hold off former teammate Sam Stevens for a one-shot victory at the All Pro Tour's Fore the Kids Shootout at Brownwood Country Club.
Bauchou finished with a 23-under-par total of 257 which also included rounds of 62, 64 and 63. The victory brought with it a $25,000 payday. Stevens carded rounds of 63, 62, 70 and 63 while earning $10,000 for his runner-up showing.
Entering the day with a five-shot lead, Bauchou went out in even-par 34 after carding a bogey at the fourth and a birdie at the sixth. He followed a bogey at the 10th with a birdie on the par-4 11th to move back to level par for the day. He closed with birdies at the 16th and 18th holes to secure the victory.
Stevens began the final round in third place and six shots back before mounting his final-round charge. He made the turn in 3-under 31 after posting birdies at Nos. 3, 4 and 6. He added his fourth birdie of the day at the 11th before tallying birdies over three of the final four holes to get to his 22-under total.
