Sam Stevens Earns APT Title In Playoff

BELLA VISTA, Ark. — Three weeks after falling to former teammate Zach Bauchou in a playoff at the All Pro Tour's Fore The Kids Shootout, former Oklahoma State standout Sam Stevens reached the winner's circle, claiming the Cooper Communities NWA Charity Classic title in a playoff on Saturday at Bella Vista Village Country Club.
Stevens defeated Trey Mullinax in the playoff with a birdie at the first extra hole.
Entering the day with a two-stroke lead, Stevens posted a closing 69 to finish with a 28-under total of 260. After going out in even-par 36, he reeled off three consecutive birdies at Nos. 11-13 before carding five consecutive pars to close his round with a 3-under 33 inward nine.
With his victory, Stevens pocketed $25,000.
