Austin Eckroat Named Golfweek All-American

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's Austin Eckroat added to his list of accolades on Tuesday, garnering second-team All-America status from Golfweek for the second year in a row.
A junior from Edmond, Okla., Eckroat was named a second-team All-America pick last week by the Golf Coaches Association of America. With his selection last week, he brought the program's total number of All-America selections to 186 and is OSU's 26th three-time selection.
As a freshman, Eckroat received honorable mention All-America status as a member of the Cowboys' national championship squad before earning third-team status a year ago.
This past season, Eckroat competed in seven stroke-play events for the Cowboys, finishing inside the top 20 six times. In addition to a sixth-place showing at the East Lake Cup, he posted a runner-up showing at The Prestige after closing with a final round of 64.
Eckroat closed with a 65 at The Carmel Cup to tie for 13th place and used a second-round 67 to tie for 17th place at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational. He posted consecutive 69s to open the Cabo Collegiate in the squad's final event of the season, tying for 14th place.
Eckroat finished the year ranked 21st in the Golfstat rankings and No. 19 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
