STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team earned a shutout win against the visiting Wichita State Shockers, 5-0, in its first midweek matchup of the season.

With the victory, the Cowgirls extend their win streak to 12 and maintain their undefeated status at Cowgirl Stadium. OSU's shutout of the Shockers marks it's sixth such game in the win streak.

I thought we were a little rusty and a little shaky to start," head coach Kenny Gajewski said. "It's tough to bounce back after playing a lot of games, but we did it."

Carrie Eberle got the call to start the game for the Pokes and the senior transfer pitched a complete game; tossing five strikeouts and giving up just two hits through seven innings.

While the top of the Cowgirls' lineup has been red hot over the winning stretch, it was freshman Madison Neighbors who made the biggest impact at the plate. The catcher posted a pair of hits and three RBI, a career high, in her three appearances at the plate.

"The bottom of the lineup had been grinding with coach Jeff and trying to help the team," Neighbors said. "It's not so much ourselves but we just try to help our team out and get more runs. We just want to win games."

Up next, OSU kicks off the Cowgirl Invitational with a doubleheader against Western Illinois. The first of two games is set for 3:30 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
