Cowboys Are Cheez-It Bowl Bound

STILLWATER – For the 15th consecutive season, Oklahoma State will play in a bowl game, as the Cowboys have accepted an invitation to face Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. CT on December 29 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, and the game will be televised by ESPN.
This marks OSU's third appearance in an Orlando-based bowl game, as the Cowboys also played in the 1976 Tangerine Bowl and the 2017 Camping World Bowl, winning both games.
The 15-year bowl streak marks the longest in school history and the seventh-longest active streak in college football.
The Cowboys (7-3 overall; 6-3 Big 12) are No. 21 in the final set of College Football Playoff rankings and enter game after finishing the regular season among the top three in the Big 12 standings for the eighth time in the past 10 years. OSU's defense has stood out through the regular season, ranking No. 1 in the FBS in defensive touchdowns, No. 2 in third down defense and among the top 12 in tackles for loss and sacks. The offense has produced Biletnikoff Award semifinalist Tylan Wallace, while ranking among the Big 12's best in rushing offense, first downs and third down conversion percentage.
Miami (8-2 overall; 7-2 ACC) enters the bowl season ranked No. 18 in the final set of CFP rankings after finishing third in the ACC, behind only CFP-bound Clemson and Notre Dame.
The Cheez-It Bowl will mark the second ever meeting between Oklahoma State and Miami, with the No. 2 Hurricanes coming out on top in previous matchup in 1991.
Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the bowl experience for Oklahoma State fans over the years has been the fact that the Cowboys usually win. OSU has won three of its past four bowl games and four of its past six bowl games. Among all FBS teams with a minimum of 20 bowl appearances, OSU's 63.3 winning percentage ranks fifth.
