Game Flow
- Both teams started out slow offensively, shooting a combined 5-20 as UT Arlington jumped out to an early 13-8 lead. Oklahoma State heated up from the floor the last 10 minutes of the first half, finishing on a 24-14 run to take the lead into the break. UTA went on a 13-0 run to take the lead with 10 minutes remaining, but the Cowboys finished the game strong. OSU took the lead 53-51 with 9 minutes remaining on a Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe layup and never relinquished it.
- Preseason All-American Cade Cunningham made his debut for OSU, leading the Cowboys with 21 points while also pulling down 10 rebounds – The first 20-10 game for OSU since 2018.
- Isaac Likekele grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds, which is the most a Cowboy has had in a game since Cam McGriff also had 13 on Jan. 2, 2019.
- Keylan Boone also had a career-high rebounding total, finishing with 12 rebounds. Boone completed the first double-double of his career with 10 points.
- Six Cowboys made their OSU debuts, including Cunningham, Donovan Williams, Rondel Walker, Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe, Bernard Kouma and Ferron Flavors Jr.
- Marked the Cowboys' first of the season and improved OSU's record to 3-1 in season openers under Mike Boynton.
- Improved the Cowboys' record to 87-25 (.777) all-time in season openers.
- Improved OSU's record to 12-1 all-time against UT Arlington and 4-1 in Arlington.
- Dating back to last season, the Cowboys have won five straight games, their last loss coming February 24 at Kansas.
- The Cowboys come home to Gallagher-Iba Arena for the first time this season to take on Texas Southern at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
