November 24, 2020 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track, Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State distance runner Ariane Ballner and jumps specialist Josh Anadu are among the 52 recipients of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association's Seniors of Significance distinction for the 2020-21 academic year.
Anadu and Ballner represent the sixth and seventh individuals named Seniors of Significance in the last four years. Historically, the duo is the 42nd and 43rd student-athletes to be tabbed for the award since 1994-95.
This year marks the fifth that the OSU cross country and track & field program has had multiple student-athletes earn the honor. They are also just the second-ever male and female duo to be given the distinction in the same year; Cole Verble and Anna Hurlbut were both honored with the award in 2018-19.
Hailing from Elmshorn, Germany, Ballner will graduate from the Spears School of Business with a degree in management. She is the 10th female cross country and track & field to be named a Senior of Significance and the fifth in the past four years.
Katy, Texas-native Anadu, pursuing a degree in environmental science from the Ferguson School of Agriculture, is the fourth-ever male track and field athlete to be bestowed the award.
The Seniors of Significance Award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to campus and community and have brought distinction to OSU.
The 52 students represent the top one percent of the Class of 2021, including all five OSU undergraduate academic colleges. The Alumni Association plans to honor these students in Spring 2021.
