Game Flow: Oklahoma held a 21-0 lead less than nine minutes into the game. After withstanding the initial surge, Oklahoma State settled down and trimmed the deficit to 27-13 at the half, despite losing starting quarterback Spencer Sanders and right tackle Teven Jenkins to injury in the first quarter. The two teams fought to a scoreless stalemate in the third quarter before OU put the game out of reach with a touchdown less than one minute into the fourth quarter.

Team Notes
·         There were some defensive highlights for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys had nine tackles for loss and three sacks. At one point, the OSU defense held the Sooners to four consecutive possessions that produced three three-and-outs and a missed field goal. For the game, the Cowboys limited the Sooners to 4-for-12 on third down.
·         With neither team scoring in the third quarter, it marked the first scoreless quarter in Bedlam since the third quarter in 2014.
·         Saturday's game was the 200th of Mike Gundy's head coaching career. In Big 12 history, only Bill Snyder (253 games at Kansas State), Bob Stoops (238 games at Oklahoma) and Mack Brown (206 games at Texas) have more.

Player Notes
·         Quarterback Spencer Sanders and right tackle Teven Jenkins both left the game in the first quarter with injury concerns. At quarterback, true freshman Shane Illingworth came in and completed 5-of-21 passes for 71 yards and a touchdowns in more than two quarters of play before Sanders returned in the fourth quarter with the Cowboys trailing, 34-13. On the offensive line, Josh Sills slid from left guard to right tackle, and Preston Wilson was inserted at guard.
·         Kicker Alex Hale missed the game after sustaining a non-contact injury in pregame warmups. He entered the game leading the nation with 2.17 made field goals per game and was 13-for-14 on the year. Filling in was redshirt freshman Brady Pohl, who converted on both of his field goal attempts (37 yards and 38 yards) and made a PAT. Entering the game, Pohl had only one career field goal attempt, which he successfully converted against Kansas earlier this season.Â
·         A pair of Cowboys returned to the starting lineup after missing last game to injury – left tackle Jake Springfield and safety Kolby Harvell-Peel.
·         Cornerback Rodarius Williams logged the 46th consecutive start of his career. He is only one away from matching Russell Okung's school record of 47.

·         Cowboy Back Logan Carter caught a touchdown pass from Shane Illingworth in the first quarter. It was the first of the season for Carter and the third of his career.Â
