November 18, 2020 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track, Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State cross country and track & field coaching staff welcomed a total of seven new athletes to OSU during the fall signing period.
Oklahoma State's newest additions include a female multi-events athlete, three female middle distance runners, and a trio of female distance racers who are bound to offer some necessary depth to a Cowgirls' distance unit that finished fourth at the 2020 Big 12 Cross Country Championships.
Hailing from Vilnius, Lithuania, Olivija Vaitaityte comes to Stillwater to add even more firepower to a multi-events group that features Bailey Golden and Megan Mann, the fifth and eighth-place finishers, respectively, in the pentathlon at the 2020 Big 12 Indoor Championships. Vaitaityte is fresh off a 10th-place finish in the heptathlon at the 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Grace Ping, a nationally-ranked runner from Phoenix, Arizona, owns the fastest times in her home state for the outdoor mile, 1600 meter-race and 3200 meter-race. As a back-to-back top-30 finisher at the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships in 2018 and 2019, Ping has the chance to have an immediate impact upon her arrival in Stillwater.
Kennadi Price made a great impression on the OSU coaching staff during her time in Weatherford, Oklahoma, just a few hours west of Stillwater. Price's 1600-meter race and 3200-meter race rank 10th and seventh in the state, respectively. Her high school personal bests include impressive times in the two mile run (11:31.00) and the 5000-meter race (19:15.10).
Rounding out the Cowgirls' distance signees is Colleen Stegmann. Competing out of Frisco, Texas, Stegmann most notably qualified for the Team Cross Country Championships and the Nike Cross Nationals South Regional in 2019. She boasts a time of 16:50.9 in the 5000-meter race on the track.
Emily Carter from Bethel, Pennsylvania comes to Oklahoma State as a member of the middle distance group. Carter owns outstanding times of 9:40 in the 3K and 16:32 in the 5K and is a regular at the New Balance National Championships for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Her times in the indoor 800 meter-race, 3000 meter-race and mile all rank within the top 25 in Pennsylvania.
Coming to Stillwater from Miami, Florida, Krystal Rodriguez can be a varsity contributor for Oklahoma State on the grass and the track as early as her freshman year. Her time of 2:12.63 in the outdoor 800 meters ranks 16th nationally; she also sits at 34th in the country for her 5:01.69 personal best in the outdoor 1600 meters.
Zoie Kiddy, one of Oklahoma's elite high school runners, will add dynamism to OSU's track and field team. Her 800 meter and mile times, on both the indoor and outdoor tracks, rank within the top five in the state.
These highly-talented, incoming Cowgirls will join a seasoned group of veteran standouts on the course and the track to bolster a historically elite program. As a whole, the 2021-22 rosters will certainly be equipped to compete among the nation's best.
