Former Cowboy Wrestlers Compete in U.S. Open

STILLWATER – Two former Oklahoma State wrestlers will compete in the 2020 U.S. Open Senior Nationals tournament beginning Saturday in Coralville, Iowa.
Derek White is the No. 9 seed in the 125 kg men's freestyle weight class while Dean Heil will compete as the No. 6 seed in the 65 kg class.
White was the 2019 national runner up at heavyweight earning All-American honors for the first time in his career. He won two Big 12 titles and piled up a 75-15 record in his three years wrestling for the Cowboys.
Dean Heil was a two-time national champion and three-time All-American at 141 pounds. He racked up 116 wins as a Cowboy including 32 in an undefeated junior season.
The ex-Cowboys will take the mat for the first time at 10 a.m. on Saturday and the competition will conclude Sunday afternoon. You can follow the event at FloWrestling.org.
