HOCKLEY, TEXAS – Oklahoma State's men's golf team earned a runner-up finish at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament on Sunday after tying the championship match against Baylor at Houston Oaks. With both teams claiming three matches apiece, the Bears won the event due to hole differential (9-4).
The Cowboys finished the event with a 2-0-2 mark.

Baylor got a pair of 3-and-2 victories in the first two matches out at the par-71, 7,007-yard layout. Cooper Dossey defeated sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, while Johnny Keefer defeated junior Austin Eckroat.

OSU picked up its first point of the day when Jonas Baumgartner took down Trey Bosco, 2 and 1. Bosco took the first lead during the match's fifth hole before the Cowboy freshman pulled even four holes later. Baumgartner would win the next two holes before the duo would tie the next six to close out the match.

The Bears picked up their third 3-and-2 victory of the match with Ryan Grider knocking off sophomore Eugenio Chacarra.

Sophomore Aman Gupta rallied late in his match with Colin Kober to put a second point on the board for the Cowboys. Kober grabbed the first lead of the match on its second hole before Gupta pulled even three holes later. He would build a 3-up lead after winning three holes over a four-hole stretch. However, Kober would move back in front after taking four of the next five. Gupta won the final two holes of the match for his 1-up victory.

After trailing for 10 holes in his match with Brandon Hoff, freshman Brian Stark also rallied down the stretch on his way to a 1-up victory. Stark drew even at the match's 13th hole before taking his first lead two holes later. The two players would tie the final three holes to close it out.

The Cowboys will wrap up their fall season and the Big 12 Fall Series when they begin play at the Maridoe Invitational in Carrollton, Texas on Oct. 18.
