Eckroat Leads The Way For Cowboys At Olympia Fields

Round Two Results
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's Austin Eckroat fired a bogey-free 67 on Saturday to vault 12 spots into the lead at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational through 36 holes.
Behind the strong round from Eckroat, the Cowboys climbed four spots into 10th place at 20-over 580. With 18 holes remaining, Baylor and its 564 tally lead the way at the par-70, 7,205-yard layout.
After opening with an even-par 70, Eckroat followed with his 3-under round to charge to the top spot in the individual race. Starting on the back nine, Eckroat birdied the 10th before carding eight consecutive pars to turn in 1-under 34. After posting two more pars to begin his second nine, Eckroat birdied the third and the fifth on his way to a blemish-free round and a one-shot lead.
Freshman Brian Stark followed an opening 73 with a 72 to stand at 145 and tied for 31st place.
Classmate Rayhan Thomas also carded a 72 to come in at 148 and tied for 44th place, while senior Ferdinand Müller signed for a 74 to finish the day tied for 58th place at 150.
Sophomore Aman Gupta posted a 75 and is tied for 73rd place at 154.
Sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen is competing individually and stands at 151 and tied for 67th place after carding a 79 during his second round.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. and will be grouped with California and Northwestern. Live scoring for the event will be available at golfstat.com.
