May 08, 2019 | Cowboy Basketball, Cowboy Golf
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma State's Jake Manzelmann has earned the highest honor in his profession, Master Strength and Conditioning Coach, from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
The Cowboy coach will be welcomed into this elite group with a blue blazer, which will be presented by OSU Assistant AD/Athlete Performance and fellow Master strength coach Rob Glass at a banquet on Thursday night at the Kansas City Downtown Marriott.
Only 10 coaches nationwide will earn their blue blazers in 2019, bringing the grand total to 208 Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches in the country. After Thursday's ceremony, Oklahoma State will have four of those 208 coaches on staff.
To qualify for the award, strength coaches must be certified by the CSCCA and have a minimum of 12 years experience at the collegiate or professional levels.
Manzelmann has spent the last 13 seasons with Cowboy basketball and the last five seasons with Cowboy golf. He also previously spent time at Texas Tech University and Northeastern University, and is a graduate of Northeastern Oklahoma State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
