Cowboy Duo Among Elite Competition at Beat the Streets

NEW YORK– Cowboy wrestling All-Americans Nick Piccininni and Derek White competed among elite competition at Beat The Streets: Grapple at the Garden on Monday night.

Piccininni dropped his bout to 2019 NCAA finalist Jack Mueller, 11-0, in what marked the Cowboy's second freestyle event of the offseason.

NCAA finalist Derek White dropped his bout, 9-0, but went the distance against two-time World bronze medalist Nick Gwiazdowski.

Also competing at the 10th annual benefit event were the likes of Olympic and four-time World champion Jordan Borroughs, 2018 World champion David Taylor, 2016 gold medalist Kyle Snyder and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist J'den Cox along with other NCAA champions.

Beat the Streets' mission is to help develop urban youth and strengthen wrestling culture in New York City, working directly with the NYC Department of Education to bring the sport of wrestling to more than 3,000 student athletes.
