Allie Stern Breaks Pole Vault Record in Final Regular Season Meet

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – Allie Stern had the 11th school-record breaking performance of the season as the Oklahoma State track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Arkansas Twilight on Friday at John McDonnell Field.
A two-hour weather delay halted competition for the first hour, and even forced the pole vaults and high jumps indoors.
Despite the inclement weather, Allie Stern broke teammate Elissa White's school-record pole vault mark with a jump of 3.86m/12-8 to win the event. The Cowgirls also took runner-up in pole vault with White's jump of 3.66m/12-0.
Sukhi Khosla ran a new season-best time of 3.51:26 and finished runner-up in the 1,500 meters for the Cowboys.
In the women's 800 meters, four Cowgirls finished in the top five, led by Kaytlyn Larson's second place finishing time of 2:09.37.
Freshman David Kelley was the runner-up in the men's high jump for the Cowboys, clearing 1.85m/6-0.75 in his second collegiate competition. Cole Verble was second in pole vault with a jump of 4.60m/15-1. Overall, OSU had 21 top-five finishes on Friday.
The Pokes head to Norman next weekend for the Big 12 Outdoor Championships at the John Jacobs Track and Field Complex.
