Cowgirl Softball Holds Top-15 Rankings

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team continued to hold a top-15 ranking this week, as the Cowgirls climbed two spots to No. 14 in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and sit at No. 14 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25.
OSU has been ranked in the top 20 of at least one of the national polls for nine consecutive weeks, marking the longest such stretch by a Cowgirl squad since 2010. The Pokes have also been ranked in at least one of the national polls in 21 of the last 23 weeks, with last Tuesday's ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 standing (No. 13) marking the program's highest ranking since finishing the 2011 season at No. 8.
The Cowgirls are currently 29-11 (7-2 Big 12) and coming off their ninth-straight week of finishing .500 or better.
OSU went 3-1 last week, picking up all three victories in a series sweep of Kansas after dropping a midweek matchup at UT Arlington. The Cowgirls success over the weekend pushed OSU into sole possession of second place in the Big 12 standings halfway through conference play.
The Pokes will look to continue their success against the Big 12 this weekend, when they travel to Ames, Iowa, to clash with Iowa State in a three-game set. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. CT on Friday.
