Cowboys Set For Play At Aggie Invitational
April 05, 2019 | Cowboy Golf
BRYAN, Texas — Oklahoma State's men's golf team will be back in action this weekend when it takes part in the Aggie Invitational at Texas A&M's Traditions Club.
The top-ranked Cowboys will be one of 13 teams in action at the par-72, 7,146-yard layout. Play will get underway on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. with the second round set to begin at 11:30 a.m. Sunday's final round is slated for a 7:30 a.m. start.
After its seven-shot victory last year, OSU has now won the event on four occasions. The Cowboys claimed the inaugural title in 2005 before adding victories in 2009 and 2016 as well.
Rickie Fowler (2009), Peter Uihlein (2011) and Kristoffer Ventura (2016) have all secured medalist honors at the event for OSU.
Head coach Alan Bratton's starting five will consist of seniors Zach Bauchou and Hayden Wood, junior Viktor Hovland and sophomores Matthew Wolff and Austin Eckroat. Freshman Aman Gupta will compete individually.
The Cowboys will be seeking their fifth win of the season and will be looking to extend their string of medalists. OSU has produced the individual champion in each of its eight stroke play events this year.
