Cowboys Head To Florida For Valspar Collegiate

PALM CITY, Fla. — Oklahoma State's men's golf team will resume action this weekend at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational where it will be looking to defend its title at Floridian National Golf Club.
The top-ranked Cowboys will begin play at the par-71, 7,114-yard layout on Sunday with the first of three rounds. The second round is slated for Monday with the final 18 set to take place on Tuesday. Sunday's action will get underway at 12:30 p.m. (CST) with a shotgun start, while Monday and Tuesday will both get underway at 7:30 a.m. (CST).
OSU won the event a year ago, finishing at 12-under 840 and five shots clear of the field. Individually, Viktor Hovland notched the first title of his Cowboy career. The junior posted a 13-under score of 200, which was good for a four-shot victory. This week will mark his return to the OSU starting five after finishing tied for 40th at last week's PGA Tour stop, the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Hovland will be joined in the lineup by seniors Zach Bauchou and Hayden Wood as well as sophomores Austin Eckroat and Matthew Wolff. Freshman Aman Gupta will compete individually.
The Cowboys are coming off their fourth win of the year in their last outing, an eight-shot victory at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. Eckroat earned his second collegiate victory in Cabo, edging Wolff by two strokes. In the process, he became the third different Cowboy to win this year and extended OSU's string of consecutive medalists. OSU has produced the individual champion in each of its seven tournaments this year.
