Postgame Notes
- With its win in 2018, Oklahoma State had the chance at a second consecutive win in Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since winning four in a row from 1960-63, but the Cowboys fell short in the 84-72 loss.
- Tonight was the 174th meeting between Oklahoma State and the Jayhawks. The Cowboy-Jayhawk rivalry is the longest standing one in OSU history outside of the Bedlam matchup with Oklahoma.Â
- OSU, despite the loss today, has eight wins in the last 11 years over Kansas, which is more than any other program in that time span. Kansas leads the overall series 115-59 and owns a 62-12 edge in Allen Fieldhouse. However, OSU did sweep the regular season series last year, which is the first time since 2001.
- The first half was as close as it can get between the Cowboys and Jayhawks. The Cowboys never trailed by more than six points and even managed to gain a one-point lead for a short stretch. Two Cowboys, Cameron McGriff (11) and Lindy Waters (10), got into double figures in the first half to help OSU go into the break tied 36-36. It was the first time OSU has been tied at the break this season.
- Kansas began to pull away with a 16-2 run in the second half over a 4:25 stretch. The Jayhawk lead got as large as 19 points. The second half was dominated by Kansas on the boards as they out-rebounded OSU 25-12, including a 10-3 edge on the offensive glass.
