Cowgirls Fall At TCU, 69-55

FORT WORTH, Texas — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team fell to TCU on the road, 69-55, inside Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Vivian Gray led the way for the Cowgirls with 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Gray finished 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. Â
OSU and TCU both came out to slow starts, but the Horned Frogs jumped ahead with a 6-0 run over a 2:14 span. Gray stopped the run with a baseline jumper and also knocked down a step back 3-pointer at the buzzer to make it 19-12 in favor of TCU after the first quarter.
In the second, TCU got out on a 7-0 run, but was stopped from a pull-up jumper by freshman Bryn Gerlich, who also knocked down a spot up 3-pointer in the quarter. The Horned Frogs forced seven turnovers containing the Cowgirls and took a 36-19 lead into halftime.
TCU started the second half with another 6-0 run, but was stopped with a jumper by Gray off an inbound pass. The Cowgirls got a 6-0 run of its own starting with a fast break 3-pointer from sophomore Jaden Hobbs. TCU hit one from beyond the arc in the closing minute, but Hobbs answered as the Horned Frogs led 52-37 going into the fourth quarter.
OSU cut into the lead with 7-0 run sparked by a 3-pointer from sophomore Braxtin Miller. The Cowgirls got to within eight points in the fourth quarter, but the Horned Frogs closed the quarter out with a 5-0 run.
The Cowgirls will be back in Gallagher-Iba Arena for its first Bedlam meeting with the Sooners Feb. 6 at 8 p.m.
