Cowgirls Return to ITA Top 10

STILLWATER – The Cowgirl Tennis team progressed in the latest Oracle/ITA rankings released on Tuesday. After a strong outing at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic over the weekend, the Pokes made a five-spot climb to No. 8.
The team has spent 84 weeks in the top 25, with March 18, 2014, marking the most recent time outside those rankings. After suffering four losses, the Cowgirls dropped to No. 14, falling outside the top 10 for the first time this season.
With three statement wins at the Blue Gray Classic over Auburn, Wake Forest and conference opponent Texas Tech, the Cowgirls claimed the title with shut victories against Tech in the semifinals and Wake Forest in the championship. The wins pushed OSU to 7-5 on the season heading into the off week.
The team has the week off before welcoming the Gonzaga Bulldogs to Greenwood Tennis Center on March 8, at 5:00 p.m.
