Cowgirls Drop Round Two of Bedlam

NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team fell to Oklahoma, 75-66, in the Lloyd Noble Center in front of 4,060 fans on Monday night.
The Cowgirls (14-13, 5-11) got the opening bucket of the game, but the Sooners (8-19, 4-12) answered with a 7-0 run. After trading buckets, OU went on a 6-0 run in the closing minutes of the first quarter, but junior Mariam Gnanou hit a turnaround jumper with 30 seconds left as the Sooners led 18-10 going into the second.
In the second quarter, junior Jaden Hobbs hit a corner 3-pointer followed by a layup from sophomore Abbie Winchester to cut the Sooners' lead to five point, but was matched by with back-to-back layups for OU. The Cowgirls closed the gap, but the Sooners led entering halftime 36-19.
The Cowgirls cut into the lead early in the third quarter got within four points, but OU went on quick 5-0 run to cushion its lead. OSU sparked a 13-1 run halfway through the quarter to take the lead at 47-44 with 1:57 remaining. OU regained the lead 55-50 entering the fourth quarter.
To open the fourth, OU went on a 5-0 and was able to maintain its lead with trips to the free throw line down the stretch.
Sophomore Vivian Gray led the way for the Cowgirls scoring 17 points and tallying assists. Freshman Kassidy DeLapp set a career-high in points and blocks scoring 12 points and recording four blocks.
The Cowgirls will hit the road March 2 for a matchup with Baylor at 1 p.m.
