LA QUINTA, Calif. — Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a closing 282 at The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab on Wednesday to finish in second place at PGA West's Greg Norman Course.

The top-ranked Cowboys finished at 8-under 844 and six strokes off the pace set by tournament champion LSU. Pepperdine was third at the par-71, 7,100-yard layout, finishing at 857.

Viktor Hovland kept OSU's string of tournament medalists going, firing a closing 66 to move from a tie for fourth into first place. The junior finished at 8-under 205 and one shot clear of Stanford's Brandon Wu.

Hovland went out with a bogey-free 3-under 32 that included birdies at Nos. 5, 8 and 9. He added a birdie at the 11th and two more at the 15th and 16th before posting his lone bogey of the day at the 18th.

With his win, OSU has produced the medalist in each of its six events this season. Hovland shared medalist honors with teammate Matthew Wolff at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate and won the East Lake Cup to go along with his win today.

Sophomore Austin Eckroat joined his teammate in the top five, tying for third place after posting his second consecutive 70 to finish with a 208 total.

Sophomore Matthew Wolff, who entered the event having won a school-record four consecutive events, tied for 14th place at 215 after closing with a 71.

Senior Zach Bauchou's 76 tied him for 30th place at 220, while classmate Hayden Wood carded a 75 during his third round to tie for 47th place at 224.

Freshman Aman Gupta competed in the event individually and tied for 30th place at 220 after posting a final round of 73.
