2020 Oklahoma State Cowboy Baseball Schedule
STILLWATER — Oklahoma State will face a formidable schedule during the 2020 season as the Cowboys look to continue their success under eighth-year head coach Josh Holliday.
Ten NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago highlight OSU's 2020 slate, and four of those will make the trip to Stillwater. The Pokes will play 32 home games, with the first 14 of those scheduled for Allie P. Reynolds Stadium and the final 18 at the new home of Cowboy baseball, O'Brate Stadium, beginning with the March 20 Big 12 Conference opener against TCU.
Twenty-five of OSU's home games are scheduled to be video streamed via Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
"The 2020 schedule once again provides our team an awesome challenge," Holliday said. "Last year, our schedule was one of the top five most difficult in the country, and this year will be no different. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch our team compete game after game against this schedule.
"Big 12 baseball is excellent — we find each weekend to be a great challenge. Up and down our league you face great programs with elite players that are always well coached, and the level of play has grown every year.
"Our non-conference schedule will prepare us for the grind of the Big 12 as well as build a strength of schedule and body of work that propels you into postseason consideration. All of our non-conference opponents are expected to compete for league championships this year in their respective conferences."
OSU opens the 2019 season Feb. 14-16 with a three-game road series at Grand Canyon before concluding the trip to Phoenix with a midweek game at Arizona State in a matchup of two of the winningest programs in college baseball history.
The Cowboys' home opener is scheduled for Feb. 21 with the first in a five-game homestand as OSU hosts a weekend series against UT Rio Grande Valley before two midweek tests against Little Rock.
Up next, the Cowboys will head to the Lone Star State for the Frisco College Baseball Classic, which will be held at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas, Feb. 28-March 1. OSU will face UCLA, Illinois and Texas A&M in the tourney.
OSU's next nine ballgames include non-conference home games against Missouri State, BYU, Saint Louis and Fresno State as the Cowboys close out their time at historic Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Other non-conference tests for the Cowboys include two midweek games each against Dallas Baptist (March 17 and April 21), Wichita State (March 24 and April 7) and Oral Roberts (April 14 and April 28), a battle vs. Oklahoma at Tulsa's ONEOK Field (March 31) and a weekend showdown against Oregon State in Stillwater (May 1-3).
For the second consecutive year but only the fourth time since 2003, OSU will open Big 12 play at home in 2020 as it hosts TCU March 20-22 in the inaugural games at O'Brate Stadium.
"We look forward to a new chapter of Cowboy Baseball history as we open the doors to O'Brate Stadium in March," Holliday said. "It's going to be exciting to share our new home with our loyal fans as we progress through the season!"
OSU will also host conference series with Texas Tech (April 3-5) and Kansas (May 8-10); the Cowboys' Big 12 road series are at Texas (April 27-29), Kansas State (April 9-11), West Virginia (April 24-26) and Baylor (May 14-16).
The Bedlam Series against Oklahoma is set for April 17-19. All three games will be at the ballparks on campus, with the rivals squaring off in Norman on Friday before concluding the series with two games in Stillwater.
Postseason play gets underway at the Big 12 Baseball Championship in Oklahoma City set for May 20-24, with NCAA Regionals beginning May 29 and Super Regionals June 5. The 2020 College World Series is set to begin on June 13.
