Cowboy Baseball’s Ritchie A Semifinalist For Player Of Year Awards
May 14, 2026 | Cowboy Baseball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State outfielder Kollin Ritchie is one of the 25 semifinalists for USA Baseball's 2026 Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the nation's top amateur baseball player, and he has also been named one of 48 semifinalists for the NCBWA's Dick Howser Trophy, which is awarded to college baseball's top player.
One of the top sluggers in college baseball, Ritchie enters the final series of the regular season hitting .340 with 28 home runs, 72 RBIs and a 1.322 OPS in 51 games.
Ritchie ranks in the top five nationally in numerous categories, including:
Ritchie leads the Cowboys with 20 multi-RBI games, including three contests of five or more, and is second with 17 multi-hit efforts.
In Big 12 Conference play, Ritchie is hitting .379 with 13 homers and 32 RBIs to go along with an .835 slugging percentage.
A junior from Atoka, Okla., Ritchie is putting his name prominently in the OSU record books. His 28 homers are the fifth most in a season in program history and the most by a Cowboy since 1999, and he is one of just 10 Pokes to reach 50 round-trippers in his career. He also currently ranks fourth on OSU's all-time list in season slugging percentage.
Ritchie has four multi-home run games this season, including a pair of games in which he went deep three times. He is one of only five Cowboys to record multiple three-homer games in a career.
Ritchie is the second Golden Spikes Award semifinalist of the Josh Holliday head-coaching era, joining Justin Campbell (2022). OSU's Robin Ventura won the GSA in 1988 and was also awarded the Dick Howser Trophy that year.
Fan voting will play a part in determining the three GSA finalists, which will be announced June 10. Fans can vote here.
Finalists for the Howser Trophy will be announced June 4.
