A Quick Nine With Brian Stark
December 10, 2019 | Cowboy Golf
1. What is it that drew you to Oklahoma State?
"I wanted to come here because of the tradition of PGA Tour players that have graduated and played golf here."
2. Your dad chose football, why did you choose golf?
"He is actually a golf coach at a junior college now. He influenced me a lot and wishes he played golf actually when he was younger. He didn't have an influence like he was on me."
3. Do you have any superstitions before you play a round?
"If I play well in a certain outfit, I'll wear that again for another tournament, but that's about it."
4. What would your dream foursome be?
"Tiger and my dad. We'll just go with a threesome for now."
5. What do you do when you aren't playing golf?
"I actually like to fish a little bit. I just hang out with my buddies back home or my buddies on the team here."
6. If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
"Probably steak."
7. What is it like having a facility like Karsten Creek to better your game?
"It's really good because it's such a challenging golf course and we have great practice facilities, so it just makes us better every day. The conditions out here allow you to adapt to every situation."
8. What is it like walking down the trophy hallway every day?
"It still shocks me a little bit to see all the plaques and all the trophies and everything. As a freshman coming in, you have to live up to that stuff, which is good, I like that. It just shows you what your goal is here, to be on one of the best programs and try to fulfill the legacies of everyone else."
9. What's it like to be a part of this "fraternity"?
"It's amazing. I've met so many former players. Viktor (Hovland) and Zack Bauchou still live here, so we play with them all the time. Matt (Wolff) is here right now, so we play with him a lot. It's unlike anything else I've been a part of. It's like a brotherhood, everyone comes back and supports. At the Pro-Am there were over 40 alumni that played on the PGA Tour. It's just really cool to be a part of it."
