Cowgirls Close Paradise Jam With 60-47 Win Over UT Arlington

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team closed out the Paradise Jam on Saturday with a hard-fought 60-47 win over UT Arlington on Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls (6-2) got going early, racing out to a 14-2 lead and forcing UTA into nine consecutive missed shots to open the game. OSU led 17-7 after the first quarter.
In the second, OSU increased its lead to 13 and led by 11 with three minutes to go in the half before UTA closed the half on an 8-2 run to get within 27-22 at the break.
In the third quarter, UTA got within two at 36-34 with 3:37 to go in the period before tying it three minutes later. The Cowgirls answered with a pair of free throws from junior Natasha Mack to close the quarter with a two-point lead.
Junior Vivian Gray took over in the fourth quarter for OSU. The All-American opened with a pair of free throws and then recorded a steal and assist to build the lead back to eight.
She added a jumper and 3-pointer as the shot clock expired before finishing the quarter with 12 points, an assist and a steal. For the game, she poured in a game-high 21 points, while Mack added her sixth career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman Sara Rodrigues added 10 points and seven rebounds.
OSU will be back in action on Dec. 7 when it travels to College Station, Texas to face Texas A&M.
