Chuba Hubbard is the Nation's Best
November 24, 2019 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – It is becoming clear that the two top running backs in the nation this year are Oklahoma State's Chuba Hubbard and Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor.
Boston College's AJ Dillon, Ohio State's J.K. Dobbins and Clemson's Travis Etienne have also been remarkable and deserve recognition, but for now, we'll focus only on Hubbard and Taylor.
Taylor has enjoyed a truly outstanding career for the Badgers, but as awards season comes upon us, it bears mentioning that the Heisman Trophy and the Doak Walker Award are presented to the nation's best in the current season, not on the basis of multi-year career achievement.
That said, a comparison of Chuba Hubbard and Jonathan Taylor using this year's numbers:
Of course, it may be unfair to single out Taylor in these comparisons to Hubbard, because the fact is that Hubbard leads the entire FBS in several of the categories listed. It's not just Taylor - nobody is as productive as Chuba Hubbard.
And that's exactly the point – Chuba Hubbard is the nation's best.
