Miyamoto Falls In First Round Of Main Draw, Rioux's Match Gets Delayed
October 09, 2019 | Cowgirl Tennis
TULSA, Okla. - Ayumi Miyamoto and Lisa-Marie Rioux were both slated to begin their singles play in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday, but only Miyamoto would finish her match as Rioux faced rain delays in Tulsa.
Miyamoto lost a hard-fought match to one of the country's top-ranked singles players, No. 37 Vivian Wolff. Wolff came out on top in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.
Rioux was supposed to play at 12:30 p.m. against No. 28 Katya Townsend of Texas A&M, but the weather would not hold up. The match was delayed too late and was forced to be pushed to Thursday. Rioux and Townsend will attempt to play in Tulsa again at 8:30 a.m. but may be forced to move to Stillwater, Okla. if poor weather prevails.
As the ITA releases its schedule for Thursday, @CowgirlTennis on Twitter will have live updates for OSU fans as well.
