October 04, 2019 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER - No. 21 Oklahoma State is on the road in Lubbock on Saturday to face the Red Raiders in the Cowboys' third conference game of the season. The team looks to improve to 5-1 on the year at Jones AT&T Stadium with hopes of furthering the below trends in the process.Â
The Pokes have won 29 of their past 40 games and have won 66 consecutive games when holding the opponent to fewer than 20 points, dating back to Sept. 13, 2003 – the longest active streak in the nation. Since the end of the 2014 season, OSU has won 43 of 59 games.
In matchups decided by fewer than 10 points, the Cowboys have only lost seven of the past 25. In the 14 most recent games, the Cowboys have scored on 10 of their opening drives. OSU has won 23 of the past 24 games in which it held a halftime lead in, dating back to Sept. 17, 2016.
The Cowboys have boasted at least one 100-yard receiver in 17 of the past 23 games and in 21 of 32. The team has outrushed opponents in 24 of the most recent 35 competitions. Since 2015, the Pokes have forced at least one turnover in 49 of 55 games played. Dating back to 2005, OSU is 36-2 when not committing a turnover, and since 2008, is 58-6 when winning the turnover battle.
Numerous players have contributed to the Cowboys' consistency. Dillon Stoner has completed at least one catch in each of his past 30 games. Receiver Tylan Wallace has at least one receiving touchdown in eight of the past 11 games and multiple receiving touchdowns in four of his past nine games. Chuba Hubbard, who leads the nation in nearly every statistical rushing category, has ran the ball for a least 100 yards in seven of his past nine games, and he has rushed for at least 200 yards in three of the Cowboys' five games this season. Senior Jordan McCray has caught at least one pass in 22 of his past 24 games, and kicker Matt Ammendola has missed only six of his past 43 field goal attemptsÂ
