Rodriguez Named Player of the Week after Win at Iowa State

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez earned his first Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday for his performance Saturday in OSU's win at No. 23 Iowa State.

The junior linebacker scored the game-winning touchdown on a pick-six late in the fourth quarter, while also finishing with 11 tackles to lead all players in the game and adding a pass break up on a third-down play to force an Iowa State punt.

Rodriguez now ranks fourth in the Big 12 with an average of 8.3 tackles per game this season.

The Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honor marks Oklahoma State's fifth weekly conference honor of the season. Chuba Hubbard was also named the offensive player of the week for his performances against Kansas State and Tulsa, while Kolby Harvell-Peel was named the defensive player of the week against Texas and Spencer Sanders was named the newcomer of the week after his performance against McNeese.
