Cowboys Cap Fall At East Lake Cup

ATLANTA – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will wrap up its fall slate this week when it begins play at the East Lake Cup at historic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
In its fifth year, the event will take place Monday through Wednesday and features four men's and four women's teams, who were extended invitations as a result of their finishes at the 2019 NCAA Division I Golf Championships in May. Joining the Cowboys on the men's side will be Texas, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
On Monday, the eight teams will compete in individual stroke play competition to determine the individual champion and to seed for two days of match-play competition. Tuesday and Wednesday, two match-play tournaments will be hosted simultaneously for the men's and women's divisions, with the semifinals taking place on Tuesday and the finals and consolation matches on Wednesday.
Head coach Alan Bratton's squad competed in the event for the first time last year. Viktor Hovland won the individual title, posting a 4-under 68 at the par-72, 7,430-yard layout. The Cowboys finished fourth in their tournament debut.
This year, the Cowboys starting five will consist of junior Austin Eckroat and sophomore Aman Gupta as well as a trio of freshmen in Hazen Newman, Brian Stark and Rayhan Thomas.
