Cowboy Baseball Completes Fall Exhibition Schedule With Vandy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma State capped fall exhibition play Saturday against defending NCAA champion Vanderbilt as the Commodores outscored the Cowboys, 12-7, in a 16-inning contest at the KC Royals Urban Youth Academy.
Cade Cabbiness led the way offensively for the Pokes as the senior went 3-for-7 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Max Hewitt, Alix Garcia and Caeden Trenkle each had two hits for OSU.
The Cowboys used 10 pitchers on the day, with that group combining for 13 strikeouts but also issuing 15 walks.
Southpaw Mitchell Stone and freshman Kale Davis both recorded three strikeouts in two scoreless innings of work, while Parker Scott and Justin Campbell also tossed a pair of scoreless frames against the Commodores.
After being outscored 9-0 over the first 10 innings, the Cowboys scored seven runs over the final six frames.
Trenkle drove in OSU's first run of the day with an RBI triple in the 11th, a hit that scored Hewitt after he lead off the inning with a double.
Noah Sifrit picked up an RBI on a groundout in the 13th before the Cowboys rallied for four runs in the 15th inning. Hueston Morrill provided the big blow in that frame with a two-RBI triple, while an RBI single by Cabbiness and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Hewitt also plated runs.
