SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Oklahoma State standout Vivian Gray has been named one of 20 watch list candidates for the 2020 Cheryl Miller Award it was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its third year recognizes the top small forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball.
Last season, Gray received honorable mention All-America status, was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and was unanimously tabbed as a first-team All-Big 12 pick. This past summer, she participated in USA Basketball's Pan American Games team trials.
The junior produced one of the most prolific offensive campaigns in school history a year ago. Gray averaged 20.0 points per game, which ranked second among Big 12 players and 25th nationally. Additionally, her average was the fifth-best nationally among sophomores.
She finished the year with a team-best 36 blocked shots, the 15th-best single-season total in school history and the most ever by a Cowgirl wing player.
A native of Argyle, Texas, Gray became just the third OSU sophomore to average 20 points per outing and just the second Cowgirl in program history to score 600 points as a sophomore. Additionally, her scoring average rose to 21.6 points per game in league play.

New to the award this season is Fan Voting presented by Dell Technologies in each of the three rounds. By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2020 Cheryl Miller Award will be narrowed to just 10.
