Cowboys Fall To Baylor At Big 12 Match Play

Houston, Texas – Oklahoma State's men's golf team dropped its first match at the Big 12 Match Play Championship on Friday, falling to Baylor by a 3-1-2 count at Houston Oaks.
The sixth-seeded Cowboys had the afternoon session off and will play two matches on Saturday and two more on Sunday at the par-71, 7,007-yard layout. The Cowboys will face second-seeded Oklahoma during the morning round and No. 7 Kansas on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Alan Bratton's squad will take on No. 10 Kansas State Sunday morning to conclude pool play. Sunday afternoon's matches will be determined by the results of pool play.
On Friday, the Cowboys got a decisive 5-and-3 victory from sophomore Aman Gupta over Tyler Isenhart. Gupta claimed four of the first six holes for a commanding 4-up lead. He added another at the 11th and never looked back.
OSU tied a pair of matches with sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen tying Mark Reppe and junior Austin Eckroat finishing deadlocked with Cooper Dossey.
Baylor's Travis McInroe defeated freshman Rayhan Thomas, 2 and 1, Colin Kober knocked off freshman Brian Stark, 4 and 3, and Johnny Keefer defeated senior Ferdinand Müller, 7 and 6, to secure the Bears' three team points.
