Throws/Multis/Pole Vault Coach Josh Langley on the Meet
On the winter break period
"Our athletes got back in town on Monday, so this is the first time we've been with them since final exams. As a coach, you can write workouts and ask for updates as they are away, but it's on them. For some it was a chance to get back to their high school track and see how far they've come and see how fortunate we are with our facilities, for others who had to deal with colder temperatures, I'm sure they are happy to get back to Stillwater."
Â
A Spoonful of Sughroue
One of the leading ladies for OSU is Molly Sughroue. She is a three-time All-American and a seven-time All-Big 12 honoree.
Sughroue comes back to the track after another campaign in which she earned an All-American honor. In the 2018 outdoor season, Sughroue made it to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Championships in the 1,500 meters and narrowly missed out on a trip to the final race.
In her first race of the season, she put up the nation's best 3,000 meters time of 9:18.36 at the BU Season Opener.
Sughroue has found recent success at the Big 12 Indoor Championships. She has been a member of the past three indoor conference championships for the Cowgirls. She won back-to-back Mile titles and was on the 2017 DMR team that won a conference title.
She also is the owner of two top-10 marks in OSU indoor middle distance events. Her 2:07.86 in the 800 meters ranks ninth in school history and her 4:37.74 is the fifth-best Mile time in Cowgirl history.
In 2019, Sughroue figures to be a key runner again for OSU. She will likely run the Mile leg of the DMR and will look to make it back to the NCAA Indoor Championships for the second straight year as an individual.
