Postgame Notes
- The Cowboys jumped out to their first double-digit lead after Cameron McGriff knocked down a 3-pointer to put them up 20-10 in the first half. Texas started the game 0-9 from beyond the arc, while OSU was 6-11 from three behind Lindy Waters' 4-4 effort at the break. OSU held Texas to just 22 points in the first half, which is a season-low for the Longhorns. The Cowboys went on a 24-10 run over an 8:24 stretch in the first half.
- The Cowboys only scored one field goal the first 6:40 of the second half, but they never gave up their double-digit lead in that stretch. Texas did not hit its first 3-pointer until the 9:16 mark in the second half, which closed OSU's lead to just nine. That three was a part of a 9-0 run for the Longhorns.
- Texas went on a 7-0 run over a 2:11 stretch that closed OSU's lead to just three. A Longhorn layup with 11.9 remaining made it a one-point game, but a pair of Isaac Likekele free throws and a missed 3-point attempt at the buzzer by Texas sealed the game for OSU.
- Rebounding has been a strength of OSU's this season, as it has now outrebounded four of its last five opponents. The Cowboys outrebounded the Longhorns 38-30 tonight.
- Oklahoma State managed to hold Texas to 2-22 shooting from beyond the arc tonight. Two 3-pointers is the least amount that an opponent has made against OSU this season.
Player Notes
- Lindy Waters shot 5-5 from three tonight. His five 3-pointers mark the most he has ever made in a game, and his 5-5 shooting performance is tied for the second most makes on a perfect shooting game in school history. He also moved into the top-25 in OSU history in 3-pointers made with 100 made over his three-year career. By finishing with 19 points, he logged a new career-high in points scored in a game.
- Lindy Waters has hit 41 of his last 43 free throws dating back to last season. He shot 4-4 from there tonight and is one of the best in the country in free-throw percentage at 95.1%
- Yor Anei has blocked at least one shot in 11 of OSU's 16 games, including five games with at least three blocks. However, he failed to block a shot in tonight's contest.
- Thomas Dziagwa (10), Michael Weathers (10), Cameron McGriff (12) and Lindy Waters all logged double-digit performances in tonight's game.
