Cowboys in the NFL: Week 17
January 02, 2019 | Cowboy Football
Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin became a starring figure across the league this past weekend, as he had by far the best game of his young career. The former OSU walk-on hauled in seven passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns. He became just the second Dallas tight end to ever record three touchdown receptions in a single game and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week - the first Cowboy TE in franchise history to do so - for his efforts.

Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin has had quite the journey:

Along with Jarwin, Seahawks running back Chris Carson continued to cement his place as one of the league's best up-and-coming runners. He bulldozed his way to a 122-yard rushing day against the Cardinals, marking the third-straight week that Carson crossed the century mark on the ground.
Carson finished the regular season 1,151 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns to his name.

His teammate, rookie cornerback Tre Flowers, also wrapped up an impressive campaign this past weekend. Flowers notched three tackles in Seattle's 27-24 victory over the Cardinals, bringing the former All-American to 67 for his rookie year.
Carson, Flowers and the rest of the Seahawks will travel to Dallas this weekend to face Jarwin and the Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the NFC Playoffs. Kick off is set for 7:15 p.m. CT on FOX
With the Bears' win over the Vikings ... it is decided.

On the east coast, Steelers rookie wide receiver James Washington impressed once again in the absence of star wideout Antonio Brown. Washington hauled in three passes for 64 yards to help the Steelers defeat the Bengals, 16-13. Unfortunately, week 17 marked the end of Washington's inaugural campaign, as the Steelers feel just shy of earning an AFC playoff berth.
Two other rookie wide receivers saw limited action in the NFL this weekend, as Raiders wide receiver Marcell Ateman caught one pass for seven yards in a loss to the top-seeded Chiefs and Lions rookie receiver Chris Lacy saw his first NFL target just one week after being promoted to the 53-man roster.
Congrats @Gifted_CLacy! This is great news. Super smart young man and works his butt off. We are so proud of you. #GoPokes #okstate https://t.co/4hgyK4P8JC
