Postgame Notes
- Today was the 83rd meeting between OSU and Baylor in a series that dates back to Feb. 7, 1918. The Cowboys lead the overall series, 54-29, although Baylor has won the last seven meetings overall and five of the last six in Gallagher-Iba Arena. OSU is 26-9 in Stillwater overall.Â
- The game ended with OSU going one for its last eight field goal attempts. Baylor made two free throws and a field goal before Cameron McGriff made a 3-pointer to bring OSU within two with three seconds left in the game. OSU was forced to foul and Baylor knocked down both of its attempts at the line to seal the game.
- OSU made 13 3-pointers in tonight's contest, which is a season high for the team this year.
- OSU went on a 15-3 run over a 4:21 stretch in the first half that put some breathing room between the Cowboys and the Bears, but Baylor responded by going 11-14 from the behind the 3-point arc in the first half alone, and Baylor led 40-35 at the half. 11 3-pointers is the most by an opponent since Colorado hit 11 in 2005.Â
- OSU opened up the second half on a 9-2 run as Baylor missed its first seven field goals; but Baylor would eventually go on a 7-0 run in just a 1:01 stretch that gave the Bears a lead that they would not surrender for the rest of the game.
- Six of the past seven games between the Cowboys and Bears have been decided by six points or less.
- OSU ended the game by making only one of its last eight field goals.Â
