Chuba Hubbard Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard took home Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week accolades for the first week of the 2018 season, the conference announced Monday.
In his first college game, Hubbard led the Cowboys with 149 all-purpose yards on 11 total touches, an average of 13.5 yards per touch. He finished the game with 65 receiving yards, 42 rushing yards, 42 return yards and a receiving touchdown.
In the third quarter alone, Hubbard had OSU's longest reception of the game with a 54-yard touchdown catch, OSU's longest kickoff return with a 42-yard return and also added a 19-yard run. His kickoff return was OSU's longest since Barry J. Sanders had a 56-yard return in the 2016 Bedlam game, and his 54-yard catch was the longest by an OSU running back since Sept. 8, 2011.
A native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, Hubbard shares this week's honor with TCU's Derius Davis, who was also named Co-Newcomer of the Week after recording 129 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in his college debut.
