Cowboys in the NFL: Week 2
September 18, 2018 | Cowboy Football
Steelers rookie wide receiver James Washington performed admirably in his first heavy-load of NFL work. He was third on head coach Mike Tomlin's wideout depth chart and was on the field for 66 of Pittsburgh's 80 offensive snaps - a significant jump from the number of times he worked with offense a week ago.
Washington also hauled in the first catch of his career, which was a 14-yard score that helped Pittsburgh pull level with the Chiefs, 21-21, just before halftime.

First catch in the NFL... might as well make it a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, Dolphins defensive tackle Vincent Taylor continued to be a disruptive force on the interior of Miami's front four. Taylor racked up three tackles against the division-rival Jets to help the Dolphins earn a 20-12 win and improve to 2-0 this season.
Â
Vincent Taylor probably needs to be starting for the Dolphins. Every time he's on the field he's grading well. Time to ramp up the playing time ask and see how he responds.

In other news, Week 2 saw former Cowboys find their way back onto 53-man rosters.
The most notable of that group was kicker Dan Bailey, who is expected to sign with the Minnesota Vikings this week after a seven-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys. Bailey, the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history, figures to provide a boost to the Vikings' special teams unit and play a key role in Minnesota's Super Bowl aspirations.

Vikings are signing former Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey, per source. Bailey had turned down four offers since start of season.

Colts cornerback Lenzy Pipkins also had his number called this week by the Indianpolis coaching staff, as he was selected to join the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Pipkins racked up 15 tackles while with the Packers during his rookie season in 2017 and should again be a key reserve for his new team this season.
