Cowboys in the NFL: Preseason, Week 2
August 21, 2018 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Several Oklahoma State football alums have been at the forefront of the NFL preseason thus far. With the regular season only weeks away, here's at look at what some of the Cowboys in the NFL have been up to.
Steelers wide receiver James Washington has been the most notable former Cowboy during this preseason, as he put on an impressive display of acrobatic skill and hand-eye coordination against the Packers on Aug. 16.
Washington hauled in five catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns in his second preseason game and had all of 'Steeler Nation', and the NFL, talking about his bright future in the league.
Washington's former teammate and fellow rookie, quarterback Mason Rudolph, joined him in Pittsburgh during April's NFL Draft. Last Thursday, the #Rudolph2Washington connection continued to thrive, as Rudolph earned the nod as the Steelers' starting quarterback for their second preseason contest.
Rudolph went 5-for-12 through the air, tallying 47 total passing yards and one touchdown against the Packers.
Another former Cowboy wideout, Raiders rookie Marcell Ateman, impressed this week as well. Against the Los Angeles Rams, Ateman showed his play-making ability by hauling in a 7-yard-pass that he turned into a 25-yard gain.
Another OSU rookie, Bengals offensive lineman Brad Lundblade, got the opportunity to meet up with some former Cowboys in Dallas this past weekend.
Oklahoma State also has several other competitors in camps around the league, which inlcudes: Dan Bailey (Dallas), Chris Carson (Seattle), Zach Crabtree (Los Angeles Chargers), Tre Flowers (Seattle), Chris Lacy (Detroit), Emmanuel Ogbah (Cleveland), Russell Okung (Los Angeles Chargers), DeQuinton Osborne (Denver), Tyler Patmon (Jacksonville), Kevin Peterson (Los Angeles Rams), Vincent Tayor (Miami), and several others.
