Evian-les-Bains, France—Three members of the Oklahoma State men's golf team were in action on Saturday at the Arnold Palmer Cup at Evian Resort Golf Club. After two days of play, the American squad leads the International side, 20.5-15.5.
During the morning's mixed foursome matches, OSU's Matthew Wolff teamed with Jennifer Kupcho. The American duo won the first, but went back to square at the second before eventually falling, 4 & 2, to Jovan Rebula and Albane Valenzuela.
Competing for the International squad, OSU's Viktor Hovland and Olivia Mehaffey squared their match against Shintaro Ban and Mariel Galdiano, but were dealt a 1-up defeat after the Americans eagled the par-5 18th.
OSU's Zach Bauchou and Sophia Schubert led by as many as two on the outward nine of their match against Harry Hall and Wenyung Keh. However, the International tandem won four of the final six holes on its way to a 3 & 1 win.
The afternoon's fourball session saw Wolff and Braden Thornerry fall, 4 & 3, to the international paring of Lorenzo Scalise and Stefano Mazzoli.
Hovland and Fredrik Nilehn dropped its match against the American team of Davis Riley and Brad Dalke, 1 up.
Bauhcou teamed with Chandler Phillips to knock off Hall and Rebula. The Americans trailed by two through six, but scratched back to all square at the turn. The U.S. side won the first two holes of the inward nine and closed out the match with a birdie at the seventh for a 3 & 2 win.
Tomorrow's singles matches will conclude the event.
Hovland will square off with Dalke, while Bauchou will take on Alvaro Ortiz and Wolff will face Hurly Long.
