Keyes Named to Outland Trophy Watch List
July 24, 2018 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State standout Marcus Keyes is one of 82 football players included on the preseason watch list for the 2018 Outland Trophy, The Football Writers Association of America announced Tuesday.
The award is presented annually to the top interior lineman in college football and the winner is selected by the FWAA.
Keyes has already been voted to the 2018 Preseason All-Big 12 team and is one of the leading men in OSU's offensive attack. In 2017 he was one of only two Cowboys to start every game on the offensive line and his streak of 26 consecutive starts is the longest active streak on the team going into the 2018 season. Keyes played a significant part in the Cowboys rushing for 34 touchdowns and helped pave the way for an offense that led the nation in passing.
Semifinalists for the Outland Trophy will be named Nov. 14 in Omaha and three finalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 19. The winner will be announced during ESPN's The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 6, live from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. The official presentation will be made at the Werner Enterprises Outland Trophy Awards Dinner produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee on Jan. 9, 2019.
The Cowboys open the 2018 season Thursday, Aug. 30, when they host Missouri State at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater with kickoff set for 7 p.m. on FS1.
Season tickets and single game tickets are available at www.okstate.com/tickets or by calling the OSU ticket office at 877-ALL-4-OSU.
