OSU Track and Field Wraps Up Day Two in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Oklahoma State track and field All-American Kaylee Dodd ran 2:07.33 and finished 16th overall in the 800 meters on the second day of the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
In a race that saw a nation-leading time, Dodd ran alongside the nation's best but missed out on a qualifying spot by just two seconds.
This will end her outdoor career as one of the best Cowgirl middle-distance runners in recent history. Dodd finishes with four total All-America honors, with two coming from 2017 and adding two more in the 2018 indoor season.
Dodd earned the No. 4 time in Cowgirl history in the 800 meters with her 2:03.38 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2017, where she earned a first team All-America honor.
In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Christian Liddell ran a solid 8:57.04 and placed 26th overall. Liddell again showed his prowess in the steeplechase in the 2018 outdoor season, setting the No. 9 time (8:54.27) in Cowboy history this season.
For the final event of the night, freshman Cheyenne Walden continued to impress, running 10:36.43 in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. In just her first season with the Cowgirls, Walden cracked the school's all-time top 10 in the event, running 10:28.95 for the No. 8 mark in school history at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
Tomorrow will see a plethora of orange with three events set to feature OSU. Three Cowgirls will be featured in the women's 1,500 meter quarterfinals at 8:45 p.m. CT. The men's 5,000 meters will also showcase three Cowboys at 10:05 p.m. CT, while the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay at approximately 11:30 p.m. CT will conclude OSU's time at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
