STILLWATER – Oklahoma State lost a conference series for just the third time this season as 10^th-ranked Texas Tech defeated the 14^th-ranked Cowboys, 14-6, Friday night at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

With the loss, OSU fell into a tie with Texas for first place in the Big 12 standings — both teams are 16-7 in league play heading into Saturday's series finales. The Cowboys are 29-21-1 overall and conclude the regular season Saturday at 1 p.m.; the Longhorns host TCU at 2:30 p.m. If the two teams remain tied in the standings following tomorrow's outcomes, they would be crowned co-Big 12 champions, with UT being the No. 1 seed at next week's Big 12 Baseball Championship.

Five Cowboy pitchers combined to surrender a season-high 19 hits, including five home runs, in Friday's loss, and the Red Raiders (37-15, 14-9) erupted for four runs in the fifth inning and five in the fifth to erase a deficit and take control.

OSU jumped on TTU starter Davis Martin early, opening the game with four consecutive singles, including back-to-back RBI hits by Colin Simpson and Jon Littell. The Cowboys would then go up 3-0 on Christian Funk sacrifice fly.

The Red Raiders used the long ball to tie the score, getting a leadoff homer in the second and a two-run shot in the third to even things at 3-3.

But OSU responded in its third at bat, plating a pair of runs on a two-RBI double by Michael Neustifter, and the Cowboys were up 6-4 after four innings.

Things would unravel over the next two innings, however, as TTU rallied for nine runs on 12 hits, which included a pair of three-run homers by Grant Little.

Carson Teel took the loss on the mound as the southpaw allowed seven runs on seven hits in four innings of work to fall to 7-3 on the season.

Littell led OSU at the plate with a 2-for-3 night, while Trevor Boone also had two hits.
