Rudolph Joins Washington As Steelers’ NFL Draft Selection

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 76th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft Friday, joining receiver James Washington as the second Cowboy drafted by the Steelers on the night.
Additionally, Rudolph becomes the 121st player in Oklahoma State history to be selected in an NFL draft, and the 23rd draft pick under Mike Gundy. He the first OSU quarterback selected in an NFL draft since Brandon Weeden was taken in the first round in 2012.
A native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Rudolph is the winningest quarterback in Oklahoma State history. He led the Cowboys to a 32-9 record as a starter, including 10 victories in games in which OSU trailed during the second half. He also beat every team in the Big 12 during his career.
Rudolph finished his career holding no fewer than 54 school records, including single-season and career marks for passing yards, passing touchdowns and pass efficiency. His 13,618 career passing yards rank fourth in Big 12 history and his career mark of 324.2 passing yards per game is third in Big 12 history.
Among FBS quarterbacks active in 2017, he ranked in the top three in passing yards per completion, passing yards per attempt, total passing yards, passing yards per game, total offense and total offense yards per play.
For his efforts during his senior season, Rudolph was named the winner of the 2017 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and received second-team All-America honors from the American Football Coaches Association.
