Heil, Blaylock Named to NWCA All-Academic Team

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wrestlers Dean Heil and Jonce Blaylock have been named to the 2018 NWCA All-Academic Team, it was announced on Thursday.

Senior Dean Heil, a two-time NCAA Champion and three-time All-American at 141 pounds, was named to the team for the fourth time in his career.
Â
Redshirt junior Jonce Blaylock was named to the team for the first time in his career after starting for the Cowboys at 157 pounds for most of the season.

Awarded annually, the NWCA All-Academic team is comprised of 155 student-athletes. Five Division I champions made the team, while seven additional runners-up were included. Of the 155 individuals, 123 were at minimum NCAA Division I qualifiers, up from 115 a year ago.Â

The team GPA was determined using a system that includes 12 student-athletes from each program. A total of 10 of these came from the wrestlers that were entries in the NCAA tournament conference qualifier.
