McCleskey Ready to Lead Group as Lone Senior Receiver

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State receiver Jalen McCleskey has been a key part of the Cowboy passing game since his freshman year in 2015, but this year he finds himself in a new position as the only senior leading a talented group of wide receivers.
McCleskey, who ranks sixth among returning FBS players with 152 career receptions, has one more year to play and is already among the top 10 players in school history in career receptions and career receiving yards.
His 1,710 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns provide invaluable experience that he hopes to share with the rest of the young group.
"If anyone has questions, just helping them out," McCleskey said when asked of how he is able to help the group. "If I see something that needs correction, just helping them out, just being a leader. We have a pretty young group but they're all great players."
He has plenty of talent around him to share his knowledge with, including Tyron Johnson, Dillon Stoner, Tylan Wallace and others.
"I feel like we're going to do just fine this year," McCleskey said. "We're going to be a really good receiving corps. It's just getting everybody acclimated."
There might not be a better player on the Cowboy roster better to help get receivers acclimated that McCleskey. In addition to his impressive career numbers already mentioned, McCleskey has caught a pass in 37 of his 39 career games played and his 19 career starts are the most of any receiver and the fourth-most of any active player on the Cowboy roster.
It remains to be seen how production will shake out with so much talent returning at wideout, but Jalen McCleskey looks to be up front and center in the Cowboy passing attack in 2018.
