DENTON, Texas -- Oklahoma State suffered its first loss of the spring exhibition season Saturday as the Cowgirls dropped a 2-1 decision to Big 12 Conference-foe Texas Tech at the University of North Texas' Mean Green Soccer Complex.
The Red Raiders recorded a pair of first-half goals against OSU goalie Dani Greenlee before the Cowgirls got on the scoreboard after intermission. Elise Hawn jump started the scoring play by sending a free kick into the final third where Claire Gantzer took the ball and served it into the box where Haley Woodard headed it to the near post for a goal.
OSU nearly got the equalizer with just over eight minutes remaining in the match, but Woodard's attempt from 10-years out deflected off the crossbar.
The Cowgirls are now 4-1 on the spring season and return to action Saturday when they take on Nebraska in Kansas City, Mo.
